Every Thanksgiving table needs a pie! Since 2003 we have been selling fundraising pies to support JP’s Community Servings. Again, this year, we have partnered with Team Pie it Forward to sell as many pies as possible and are determined to break our pie sales record. The proceeds from each pie sale provide a week of medically tailored meals for our critically ill neighbors.
Community Servings understands the power of food and the importance of community. Through the dedicated efforts of hundreds of employees and volunteers, they prepare and deliver made-from-scratch meals to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illness. Each meal is medically tailored to meet the needs of clients who are dealing with HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, and other devastating illnesses. Since the pandemic began demand for Community Servings nutritious meals has increased by over 70%.
Over 100 of Greater Boston’s most generous restaurants, caterers and chefs will bake thousands of pies that more than 500 volunteers sell to family, friends and coworkers. Again this year we are inspired by the support from Compass Cares, the philanthropic arm of our brokerage. Every Compass real estate transaction results in a donation to local communities through Compass Cares. We are so proud of the groundbreaking efforts of Compass Cares to empower agents to support meaningful causes right where it counts the most, in our local communities.
